3 years ago, we introduced Our Microblades, for artists who wanted to do their best work, safely and effectively.
Ever since, thousands of artists all around world turn to our Microblades for their precious clients and to showcase their best work.
Something we often get asked is “How do you dispose of the Tina Davies Microblades in a regular Sharps Container?”
While we agree that our microblades are a little bit longer than the average microblade due to the handy ruler, it is still just as easy to dispose of your microblade, and we’ll show you how!
What does Sharps Mean?
According to the FDA, sharps is a medical term for devices with sharp points or edges that can puncture or cut skin. A microblade, which glides across the skin to deposit pigment into the dermal layer, would be considered a part of the “sharps” family.
Why Use A Sharps Container?
A sharps container is made of puncture-resistant plastic and leak-resistant sides and bottom. You should always dispose of any sharps in these proper FDA-approved containers, because, if not disposed of safely, people and pets can be injured or exposed to dangerous infections which can cause serious health conditions. The most common of these infections being:
- Hepatitis B (HBV)
- Hepatitis C (HCV)
- Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
If you are unfamiliar with bloodborne pathogens and the serious diseases that can be contracted from reuse of needles and handles, or improper sterilization of microblade needles, see our blog post HERE

Where Can I Get a Sharps Container Like This?
This type of horizontal-entry sharps container is great because your microblades will literally just stack up, and you can fit more inside of it than the vertical entry sharps containers.
I picked up this Sharps Container from Shopper’s Drugmart (A Canadian pharmacy chain) but you can just as easily get one of this size from your local pharmacy, usually for FREE! Want to shop online? Get them from Amazon HERE
I hope this tip helps and makes your job easier!
